Breakfast time

Saturday and sunday morning is my favorite time to cook english breakfast. Looks like complicated, but in fact you just need some eggs, bread, beans and sausages.

Heinz baked beans is my preference as it is already tasteful without adding anything. You just need to heat it up in a saucepan with medium heat. But if you like to add more flavour on it, you can stir-fry some onion then add the beans afterwards.

If you prefer french eggy bread (read: pain perdu) , you can use brioche instead of soft bread.

How to make eggy bread:

Ingredients:

  • 2 large free-range eggs
  • 1 tbsp of milk
  • butter
  • 4 slices of soft bread or brioche
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

  • Beat together the egg, milk and a generous amount of salt and pepper in a cooking bowl.

  • Heat enough the butter in a large frying pan over a medium heat. When the butter starts to shimmer, dip the bread into the egg mixture and add it to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden-brown.

Then voilĂ , your eggy bread is ready. Add some grilled sausages, fried egg, baked tomato, and baked beans.
