smoked salmon with dill and sweet mustard


Hey guys, today I’ll give you an idea how to make simple smoked salmon to look more interesting and tastier.


  • 8 tranches of smoked salmon
  • Ikea sweet mustard (you can only find this in Ikea groceries store when you visit Ikea)
  • some fresh dill
  • 2 big pickles (sliced)
  • Lemon

and some toothpicks for serving.

Ikea sweet mustard


Take one tranche of salmon , cut it diagonally in to two pieces. Then, put a little bit mustard in one side of the tranche, put one tiny branch of dill, and roll the salmon. Put another tiny branch of dill and one slice of pickle. Use one toothpick to spare it. Sprinkle some juice of lemon before tasting.

Home made chicken katsu

Chicken Katsu or Japanese fried chicken is one of my favourite quick dish when I don’t really have lots of time to cook. Here is my recipes:

for 2 persons:



2 chicken breast (slice it like butterfly)

5 tbsp of flour

1 tbsp of maïzena (corn flour)

some salt and black pepper,

1 tsp of paprika powder

1 tsp of chili powder

1 tsp of coriander powder

1 egg, separate egg yolk and egg white

Some katsu bread crumbs (you might find it in Asian groceries store)

Sweet soya sauce

Cucumber & tomato pickles:

1/2cup of Malt vinegar

2 tbsp caster sugar

1/2 cucumbers, cut into dice

1 tomato, separate with the grains, then cut into dice

1 green onions, thinly sliced.

you can add some small green chilli if you can handle spicy


1st step: prepare cucumber pickles

Mix the vinegar and custer sugar, put the cucumber, tomato and chilli, mix it again, sprinkle the green onion. Set a side.

2nd step: chicken katsu

Place the flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs in three separate shallow bowls.Mix the flour, maïzena, some salt and black pepper, paprika powder, chili powder, coriander powder in a medium bowl. Shake it well. Coat the chicken breast in the mixture. Meanwhile, heat the oil.

Dip the chicken into the egg white, then press into the Katsu bread crumbs until well coated on both sides. Deep fried the chicken in hot oil until golden brown.

Tips! Instead of throwing the egg yolk, I used to fried the egg yolk (half-cooked). Put on top of the katsu when it served.

Served it with white rice, cucumber pickles, and soya sauce. Bon appétit! 🙂





French veal ragout – “blanquette de veau”

Blanquette de veau is one of french traditional dishes for autumn or winter season. There’s lots of easy and quick recipes on the internet, but I suggest you to make a proper one because the secret of cooking a perfect “blanquette de veau” is keeping original flavor from each ingredients. If you mixed all ingredients without cooking it separately you will loss the original flavor of it. Even it takes a lot of preparation and time but it is worth for the result. One little tips to make it easier and faster, prepare the ingredients before you start to cook, it will save a lot of your time.

blanquette de veauIngredients for 4 person:

  • 800 gr of mix veal meat (shoulder and brisket), diced
  • 60 gr of onion (cut)
  • 4 carrots (cut into 4 parts, then slice each part into two parts)
  • 4 tablespoon of minced celery
  • 2 leeks (cut only the white part)
  • some parsley (minced)
  • 2 pc of thyme
  • 2 pc of bay leaf
  • 2 pc of garlic (minced)
  • 50 gr of unsalted butter
  • 30 gr of flour
  • 10 gr of heavy cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 125 gr of button mushroom (sliced)
  • 1/4 lemon jus
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • sugar, sea salt, white and black pepper
  • rice
  • fried potatoes (slice potatoes and fried with butter)


1st step:

Put the pieces of veal into a big sauce pan with cold water, boil from some minutes until the fat goes into the surface, use a skimmer to put it off. Take it aside.

2nd step:

Melt 20 gr butter into frying pan with medium heat, put onion, garlic, leeks, thyme and bay leaf. Add carrots and reduce the heat until it turns a bit brown. Put in a bowl and set aside.

3rd step:

Boil the veal with a low heat and add the mix of vegetables, cover with the lead.

4th step:

In the meantime, we’re going to prepare the “roux blanc”; melt butter with low heat and add the flour in another sauce pan, whisk and stir continuously until it makes brown mixture. Leave it cool for awhile.

5th step:

Glace the small onion with melted 20 gr of butter, sugar, some salt and black pepper, add some water in a frying pan. Cook until water evaporation. Set aside.

6th step:

Melted 20 gr of butter, add lemon jus, some water and button mushroom. Cook until the mushrooms changed color.

7th step:

Whisk egg yolk in a bowl and add heavy cream. Set aside.

8th step:

Pre-heat the “roux blanc” on low heat and add mixture of egg yolk and heavy cream, add some veal broth and whisk it. Poor this mixture, onion glaced and mushroom into main sauce pan. Add parsley and celery. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Then served it with white rice and fried potatoes.

Banana crumble cake with raisin and dark chocolate

Today, I am gonna show you my succes recipe of “Banana crumble cake with raisin and dark chocolate”. I could tell you this is quite succesful because normally I don’t really have good hands to bake a cake, but when I asked my colleagues at the office to taste it, they said I did it very well. The original recipe based on allrecipes, however I’ve added some ingredients to make it tastier. This recipe is pretty heavy, but I dare you to make one and taste it because it’s hard to resist to not to try one. One day without diet? Why not!

Ingredients for banana cake:

  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (put a bit of salt)
  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 190g flour
  • 1 table spoon baking powder
  • 60ml milk
  • a handful of raisins
  • half of dark chocolate (cut into tiny chips)

Ingredients for crumble:

  • 25 gr unsalted melted butter
  • 125 gr custer sugar
  • 90 gr flour
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

additional: 2/3 tablespoon pieces of dark chocolate


Melt butter, sugar and vanilla in a saucepan over a medium heat. Remove from the heat. Add mashed banana and milk. Mix the egg separately, add the flour and baking powder. Stir it with banana mixture. Add handful of raisins and dark chocolate, stir it carefully so you will keep the texture of chocolate.

Grease the baking tin with butter and put baking paper on it, poor the mixture into the tin.

Now, we’re going to prepare the crumble. Put flour, sugar and cinnamon into mixing bowl and add the melted butter, use your hand to make crumble. Once your crumble is ready, poor on top of your banana cake mixture.

Bake at 170° C for one hour. Leave it cool for sometimes then spread some dark chocolate pieces on top of it!

Pineapple fried rice

If you asked me what every Indonesian at least can cook? Yep! exactly, it is the famous “Nasi goreng” a.k.a fried rice. How we make it? It depends everyone’s taste, it could be spicy will fresh chili, or sweet and sour with tomato sauce and butter, or fruity just like the one that I’m going to show you my recipe.

“The pineapple fried rice”


  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 2 garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh red chili, chopped
  • Shrimp (or chicken), peeled but keep the tail.
  • 1 egg
  • some frozen peas (make sure to put in a bowl of hot water and strain the water after defrost)
  • A whole pineapple (cut into two parts and take the fruits out using knife and spoon, make sure that you have enough place to put the rice inside the pineapple)
  • tomato sauce
  • chili sauce (if you would like to make it a bit spicy)
  • Thai Rice (I prefer to cook rice in rice cooker, if you plan to cook fried rice for lunch, try to cook the rice in the morning, it’s better to use cold rice for making a good fried rice)


  1. Heat 2 tbs vegetable oil or margarine in a medium-high heat.
  2. Cook and stir the onion, garlic until you can smell the perfume, then put chopped fresh red chili
  3. Put the egg and scrambled
  4. Put the shrimp, cook and stir until it’s changing color.
  5. Put chopped pineapple, cook and stir until it’s tender.
  6. Reduce the heat and put the rice, stir with the tomato sauce and chili sauce until it well combined.
  7. Prepare the whole pineapple in a big plate, and put the fried rice on top of it.
